Fatima Jinnah Award distribution ceremony

Fatima Jinnah Award distribution ceremony will be held today (Thursday) in a local hotel.

The ceremony will held under the auspices of Punjab Women Development Department.

Dr Ayesha Ghous Pasha, minister for finance, will be the chief guest on the occasion.

The Punjab chief minister, on the occasion of International Women's Day 2016, had approved award of prestigious Fatima Jinnah Award to those women who had rendered great services and shown extraordinary courage to achieve their goals in various fields of life. 

The Women Development Department in the light of diversified fields has proposed the women’s empowerment as the theme for the year.

The awards will be conferred on women who have proven their mettle in the cause of women empowerment in the field of education, social mobilisation, community work, art, culture, sports, etc.
