LAHORE

Four more labourers were severely injured in an incident during work at Orange Line Metro Train Project near Mandi Stop, Multan Road due to the missing safety gadgets on Tuesday.

The labourers were being shifted to the track through a puller lifted by a crane. Suddenly, the puller broke down and they fell to ground. They received fatal injuries and were shifted to hospital. The victims were identified as Rizwan, Shahid, Ijaz and Shahzad. Three of them were under 18 years of age.

Eye-witnesses, photos of the victims and footage showed that they were not wearing any safety gadgets exposing violation of workers safety protocols.

This is not the first incident in which the workers had fallen victim to poor working conditions at the project. The project has claimed over 25 lives so far.
