BAHAWALPUR: Four people, including a nine-month-old boy, were crushed to death by a truck after their bike slipped near Head Islam on Hasilpur-Vehari Road on Wednesday.
Ghulam Nabi, a resident of Chak 68 Fateh, with his mother Manzooran Bibi, wife Shakila Bibi, four-year-old niece Shehrbano and nine-month-old son was going to Head Islam from Hasilpur when his bike slipped on the road. All of them fell on the road and the truck coming from the rear side crushed them. Ghulam Nabi was injured while all the four died on the spot. The Sadr police have shifted the bodies to the village for burial.
2 KHATEEBS RELEASED: Two renowned khateebs were released by a local court after they paid fine in case of the violation of the Amplifier Act.
Kotwali SHO Malik Rashid Channar had registered cases against Allama Riaz Ahmad Awaisi and Hafiz Muhammad Akbar of the Sunni Council for taking out a rally against blasphemous caricatures and misusing the loudspeaker. The court had fined Rs 25,000 each of them and 45-day imprisonment in case of non-payment of fine. The SHO was awarded a certificate and a cash prize of Rs 10,000 for registering the FIR and presenting the challan in court on time.
