PESHAWAR: A high-level delegation of the Afghan Border Force Wednesday called on Corps Commander Peshawar Lt-Gen Hidayatur Rahman to discuss border security matters and measures for enhancing border coordination mechanism.
The delegation was led by its commander Lt-General Shafiq Fazli. Its members visited the Balahisar Fort, the headquarters of paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC). They met Inspector General Frontier Corps Maj-Gen Tayyab Azam.
Both the officials discussed matters of professional and mutual interests.On their arrival at Balahisar, the delegation laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada. They offered fateha for souls of security personnel who have laid down their lives during the war against terrorism.
Before arrival of the Afghan delegation, Corps Commander Lt-Gen Hidayatur Rahman had visited Afghanistan on January 18. The current visit of Afghan delegation is a sequel to the series of meetings planned on both sides of the border. These contacts are meant to boost cooperation between the Pakistani and Afghan armies.
