ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) has issued notices to the Attorney General (AG) and companies, which have worked out land assessment in EOBI land scam.The court has sought a reply from the AG that the court is told as to why no increase has been made in the pension of poor employees of EOBI.
Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has remarked “EOBI money is poor employees’ money, and no one will be allowed to practise dishonesty therein. He gave these remarks while presiding over a 3-member bench of the SC during the course of hearing of the case on Wednesday.
The court was told at the inception of hearing that no increase has been made in the pension of the poor employees. The matters cannot run this way. The poor employees are much disturbed. The court was also told EOBI had sold out land but no assessment has been worked out so far. The court, while issuing notices to AG and the companies which have worked out assessment of land adjourned, the hearing of the case till February 17.
