Digital crimes

Cyber crime has become one of the most notorious crimes across the world. More than half of the world is facing the problems of identity theft, phishing, hacking, etc. Research suggests that approximately one single identity gets stolen per minute. Imposters or identity thieves who disguise themselves as normal people on social media are hard to detect. They harass people or steal their identities either for their sadistic amusement or for money. Many young children and teenagers are being harassed by these imposters. Even constant vigilance by guardians and parents hasn’t ceased the issue.

Although the Pakistani government passed the Pakistan Electronics Crime Bill 2015, the authorities are still unable to control cyber bullying mainly because of the lack of advanced technology. The concerned authorities must introduce strict online security measures so that the online presence of a person is not threatened.
