Islamabad: Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) has started a new tradition of establishing writers Books’ Corners at its Ahmed Faraz Library, says a press release.
In this regard first Book Corner in the memory of ‘Partau Rohila’ has been established”, Dr Muhammad Qasim Bughio, chairman PAL expressed these views while informing the writers about the Reading Book Culture and its promotion.
He stated that Partau Rohila’s family donated his collection of books to Pakistan Academy of Letters after his death which is placed prominently in Ahmed Faraz Library of Pakistan Academy of Letters. Ahmed Faraz’ Library has been extended while establishing Books’ Corners from writers’ personal libraries. The writers can preserve their collection of books while donating them to PAL and in this way a great number of readers can be benefitted out of this.
He said that Literary corner in the memory of Partau Rohilla has been inaugurated by Peer Muhammad Aslam Bodla, Chairman Standing Committee of National Assembly, Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage.
Chairman Pakistan Academy of Letters requested to writers and the heirs of deceased writers to donate the collection of their books so that readers can get easy access to them and utilize them accordingly. Pakistan Academy of Letters’ Ahmed Faraz Library remains open on Saturday and Sunday as
