Residents of Gawalmandi and Asghar Mall are extremely suffering due to the shortage of water in their localities despite the fact that Gawalmandi area got largest water tank in the region.
In scorching heat of summer when water becomes utmost necessity, the residents of the said two localities are suffering greatly due to the water crisis.
Residents while talking to this correspondent told that only few months back, water was being supplied to the locality two times a day. Then the supply was cut to single time a day and now the two localities barely receive half an hour water that meets no requirements.
Such negligence, forcing residents to acquire private water tankers, that cost huge money that poor people cannot afford. Residents said that there are tube wells in the Gawalmandi area that were very old and redundant now.
While these areas also not receiving water supply from Khanpur Dam, it is more necessary to install new tube wells to overcome the water shortage.
Residents have requested the local government to immediately solve this problem otherwise there will be protests.
