First Pakistani woman finishes 22-day journey of KP on motorbike

First Pakistani woman tourist on motorbike concluded here 22-day journey to different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and reached Islamabad.

Her journey was sponsored by Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) on special instructions of PTDC Managing Director Ch. Abdul Ghafoor Khan. While addressing a press conference in Islamabad Club on conclusion of her journey, Gul Afshan Tariq said that Pakistan is one of the beautiful countries of the World. Out of 14 highest peaks in the world 5 lie in Pakistan including K-2 the second highest peak in the world which is a challenge for mountaineers. Pakistan has a huge treasure of ancient civilizations like Indus Valley and Gandhara civilisations. Now the law and order situation of Pakistan is very suitable for tourism.

Gul Afshan Tariq is cyclist and adventurer attempted another record in Pakistan and starting her motor bike ride in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhaw province from Islamabad from May 6, 2017. Her 22-day tour included destinations like Dir, Chitral, Mastuj, Bumburet, Saidu Sharif, Malam Jabba, Kalam, Besham, Balakot, Shogran, Naran, Bobusar, Kohat, Harripur and Peshawar covering 1500 kilometres. This adventurous and amazing motor ride will project soft image of Pakistan as a peaceful country and highlight tourist attractions of Pakistan to the world. This message will go to the entire world that Pakistan is a safe country where a woman all alone can travel on motor bike without any fear.

She thanked Managing Director PTDC for all the arrangements of her 22 days visit to different part of KP province made by Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC)

PTDC’s Manager (Publicity & Promotion) Mukhtar Ali said that this organization is committed to promote and develop tourism in Pakistan and we are glad that this woman has achieved a milestone for creating a soft and tourist friendly image of the country. In future, PTDC will continue its objective by supporting youth to know their own country.
