ABBOTTABAD: The police here on Friday launched the Police Access Service to promptly redress the complaints of the common people received through email, fax and SMS.

Deputy Inspector General of Police, Hazara Range, Saeed Wazir, formally inaugurated the newly launched public service initiative at the Police Assistance Lines. People from all walks of life including elected representatives, traders, government officials, journalists attended the function.

Addressing the gathering, Saeed Wazir said that Police Access Service was an additional check on the police as powers could be misused without a system of checks and balances.

He asked the police officials to perform duties in a professional manner as the complaints would be addressed on merit and action taken against the erring cops.
