Govt urged to address power crisis
LAHORE
Opposition leader in Punjab Assembly Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed has demanded the federal government immediately address the issue of loadshedding as per its promises.
Speaking on a point of order during the Punjab Assembly session on Friday, Mian Mehmood ur Rasheed said that the federal government was to present the budget but it had failed to honour its commitments. He said that Ramazan was about to start but there seemed no relief for the population as hours-long loadshedding continued.
The Opposition leader demanded government to provide complete relief to the people in Ramazan.
Earlier, Ahmed Yar Hanjra, Minister for Prisons, while responding to queries of legislators told the House that the government had made foolproof security arrangements in the prisons across Punjab. Besides, the House was also told that Prisons Department would also hire staff to ensure proper provision of health facilities to prisoners.
The PA session once again had to face adjournment as it failed to meet quorum. The quorum was pointed out by PTI MPA Dr Murad Raas which the House was unable to meet.
