Applications sought for training on audio and video documentary making

The Centre for Excellence in Journalism, Karachi, the Embassy of Switzerland in Pakistan, Fondation Hirondelle, Switzerland, International Film Festival and Forum on Human Rights, Geneva, and the UN Information Centre in Pakistan invite applications from audio and video documentary makers from Pakistan and Afghanistan for a training programme on audio and video documentary making on human rights and peace building.

Four participants from Pakistan and four from Afghanistan will be selected to work together with professional trainers to produce state-of-the-art documentaries on human rights issues (two video and two audio). Documentaries produced during the programme will be broadcast on radio and TV as well as documentary festivals across the world. Transportation, lodging and training fees are covered so this is a highly competitive opportunity. The duration of training programme is from 17 to 28 July, 2017, at The Centre for Excellence in Journalism, Karachi

Applicants should: Be citizens of Pakistan or Afghanistan and currently working in one of these countries either within a media house or as independent producers; have at least three years of experience in audio or video production, with several produced and broadcast pieces; be able to work with digital equipment as well as standard editing software; be fluent in English; participate in the training programme on a full-time basis. The programme is residential and all participants are expected to live at the Centre for Excellence in Journalism.
