Principal Post Graduate Medical Institute and Ameer ud Din Medical College Prof Ghiyas un Nabi Tayyab has said extracurricular activities play vital role to polish personality of students. Medical students have to burn midnight oil for attaining satisfactory numbers. They need more opportunities of recreation and college functions to keep themselves relaxed and fresh. 

He expressed these views while addressing an event of Drama Night and Annual Dinner organised by Dramatic Society of Ameer Ud Din Medical College and Post Graduate Medical Institute held at Ali Institute, according to a press release issued on Monday. President Dramatic Society Professor Khalid Mahmood, faculty members and a large number of students attended the function. The students presented dramas, music performances and pieces of acting highlighting social issues in lighter tone. This function was also held in honour of outgoing session of first badge of MBBS class of AMC.

Addressing the participants, Prof Tayyab said that profession of doctors requires compassion, kindness and humanity. Patients get impressed more by the politeness of a doctor than his treatment. Therefore, doctors should develop habits of tolerance, patience, sacrifice and sympathy within themselves along with best professionalism. 

Prof Khalid Mahmood said: “It is an established fact that our students are not behind anyone in the world in respect of talent and guts. Great Allama Iqbal was rightly optimistic about our youth and its huge potential. The only task to be achieved is the provision of proper plate farm to youth for taking off for high flying in the skies of opportunities and chances.” In charge Dramatic Society Ujala Ejaz expressed her views during the function. At the end, special guest Prof Tayyab distributed prizes and commendatory certificates among the high performers of the Drama Night.
