Workshop held on training of officials of info department
The Government of Sindh’s Information Department conducted a three-day workshop for the training of officers of the department in which renowned speakers from the print and electronic media delivered lectures and shared experiences.
The training was designed to deliberate on new challenges of technology.
Addressing the concluding session of the training, the secretary of the Information Department, Imran Atta Soomro, said that the capacity building of the officers was an essential part of service because it enhanced their capabilities and performance and provided result- oriented officers.
He added that the Information Department was “the ear, eyes, pulse and face of the Sindh government and its officers closely coordinate with the members of Sindh cabinet, Governor House, Chief Minister House and IG Sindh” to promote the soft image of the government.
Soomro further said that the officers of the Information Department minimised the gap between the government and the masses through media.
He stressed that for better results the officers of the department should be equipped with modern techniques of the mass media.
Manzoor Shaikh, Dr Tauseef Ahmed, Mubashir Zaidi, Wusatullah Khan and other prominent personalities addressed the workshop and said that it was the responsibility of the Information Department to make possible the publicity and projection of the government through using the latest media tools and available resources.
They urged the officers of the Information Department to rethink their approach towards professionalism and technologies involving journalism.
Admiring the performance of the department, they said the department always played its significant role in timely disseminating correct information in the time of disasters.
