LAHORE
Minister for Railways Khawaja Saad Rafique has said that Chinese investment of Rs 1,000 billion for upgrading rail network from Peshawar to Karachi is a good sign for the railways but they would focus on all other small link roads to improve travel facilities for passengers.
The minister said this while chairing a meeting at Railway Headquarters on Friday.
According to a press release, the minister was told that recently PR had given 10 percent subsidy to passengers on branch trains. The PML-N senior leader also sought recommendations for transporting trade equipment to support traders of Sialkot, Lahore and Karachi.
