Rangers arrest six suspects in raids

The Sindh Rangers arrested six suspects, including militants of a political party, in raids conducted across the city on Friday.

A spokesman said three activists of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement – London (MQM-L) were arrested in an information-based raid in Saddar’s Preedy area. 

The arrested men were identified as Kamran Ahmed alias Hakla, Raheel Hussain and Abdul Raheem alias Paap. The accused were said to have been involved in target killings, extortion, robberies, torching vehicles, snatching hides and other crimes.

Moreover, one of the accused, Abdul Raheem alias Paap, was also involved in armed battles with Lyari gangsters.

In Jamshed Quarters and Korangi, the Rangers arrested two suspected robbers identified as Mohammed Zameer alias Jimmy and Mohammed Shaan Qureshi. The accused were also involved in mobile snatchings and street crime cases.

In Lyari’s Baghdadi area, a drug dealer named Yousuf was arrested. 

The spokesman said weapons, looted items and narcotics were found on the arrested suspects. All of them were later handed over to local police for further legal proceedings.
