Official, guard killed in Kurram Agency attack

PARACHINAR: An official of the political administration and his guard were killed when militants fired at them when they were on a routine patrol in Kurram Agency, official sources said on Sunday.

The sources said that Sarfaraz Hussain, serving as Political Muharrir in the administration, was on a routine patrol in Olay area in lower parts of Kurram Agency when the militants fired at his vehicle.

“Sarfaraz Hussain and his official guard Mumtaz Hussain were killed on the spot,” said an official of Kurram Agency’s political administration.

The administration arrested eight persons under the collective responsibility clause of the Frontier Crimes Regulations (FCR).The outlawed Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) claimed responsibility for the attack.
