Testing service to recruit teachers

LAHORE

The Punjab government has decided in principle to establish Punjab Testing Service to recruit and hire best staff for the Schools Education Department.

Punjab Minister for Schools Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said this while presiding over a department meeting here on Tuesday. He said school education department was working to make effective strategy to provide quality education to students. 

Rana Mashhood emphasised to take solid steps to establish Punjab Testing Service so that quality staff could be arranged for achieving policy goals. 

Directorate of Staff Development (DSD) Programme Director Dr Allah Bakhsh Malik, Secretary Primary & Secondary Health Ali Jan Khan, MD Punjab Education Foundation Tariq Mahmood, Special Secretary Schools Education Rana Hassan Akhtar and officials of the departments concerned attended the meeting. Progress on Punjab Education Standard Development Authority as well as construction of 36,000 additional classrooms in public sector schools by 2018 also came under discussion.

Meanwhile, the minister presided over another meeting and said Daanish School System was a revolutionary step taken by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif under which brilliant students of deserving families were getting quality education. 

Seminar: Post Graduate Medical Institute Principal Prof. Dr. Ghiyas un Nabi Tayyab has said that children suffering from thalassaemia are a collective responsibility of our society and both government and society can provide best available medical facilities and blood transfusion without interruption to them. 

He expressed these views while addressing a seminar in connection with World Thalassaemia Day at the pediatric department of Lahore General Hospital, according to a press release on Tuesday.
