Karachi Whites, Blues demolish rivals in Inter-Region U19 cricket

KARACHI: Karachi Whites and Karachi Blues recorded impressive wins in the Inter-Region Under-19 One-day Cricket tournament on Saturday.

At Diamond Club Ground in Islamabad, Karachi Whites defeated Islamabad by 115 runs. Karachi Whites posted 313-8 in the allotted 50 overs with Umair Yousuf scoring 149, which came off 141 balls and had 16 fours and two sixes.

Mohammad Talha belted 38-ball 43 with five fours and one six. Musa Khan got 2-34.

In response, Islamabad were skittled out for 198 with Rohail Nazir scoring 91, which came off 97 balls and had eight fours and one six. Abu Huraira made 45 with four fours. Mohammad Ali Khan got 3-52, while Arish Ali Khan and Mohammad Taha got two wickets each.

Meanwhile here at UBL Sports Complex, Karachi Blues crushed Quetta by 216 runs. Karachi Blues piled up 301-8 with Imran Shah scoring unbeaten 144, which had 17 fours and three sixes. Ashar Qureshi belted 70 with ten fours. Adil Nisar got 4-54, while Mohammad Asghar captured 3-43.

In reply, Quetta were skittled out for only 85 in 17 overs. Nadir Shah got 4-21, while Izhar Gul took three wickets.

At Pindi Stadium, Faisalabad defeated Lahore Whites by six wickets.

Lahore Whites posted 196 all out with Hashim Ibrahim making 40. Suleman Shafqat got 3-34, Shaur Ahmed and Usama Javed got two wickets each.

Faisalabad reached the target in 47 overs after losing four wickets. Ali Qasim made 77 not out, while Awais Zafar made 50.
