Future prospects of Pakistan-Bosnia relations discussed at roundtable

Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nedim Makarevic on Wednesday shared the history and rich culture of Bosnia and talked about the future prospects of Pakistan-Bosnia relations at a roundtable session organised by the Centre for Global and Strategic Studies (CGSS).

Ambassador Nedim Makarevic was invited to share his thoughts about the ways to strengthen the bond between the two countries through exploring the economic, educational, social and cultural opportunities as the two nations are so close yet too far. 

In his speech, the he said that Bosnia is a land of free where cultural values and norms are valued. Ambassador Nedim Makarevic also shared his experience of interactions with local Pakistanis as many had no idea about the exact geographical location of Bosnia. Many believed it is a Central Asian Republic and he found the opportunity given by the CGSS as a welcoming one to address the general public in identifying the true Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A presentation about the country was shared to entice the audience regarding the opportunities found in this little ‘heart of Europe’. The Ambassador also expressed that Bosnia has multiple state of the art universities where the country pays special attention towards research and science and technology.

The President of CGSS, Major General Syed Khalid Amir Jaffery (r), extended his special gratitude to the Ambassador Nedim Makarevic for accepting the invitation to give a talk on how to strengthen the bond between the two countries by utilizing the CGSS Interactive Series platform.  In his concluding remarks, The President CGSS acknowledged the active participation of the Ambassador Nedim Makarevic in the diplomatic circles and that he has been supportive of Pakistan’s stance on many pertaining issues.

About 50 people including the senior members of CGSS Advisory Board, business community, experts, economic analysts and students from various universities attended the session.
