Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif chaired a high-level meeting to review the progress regarding the steps that were taken to improve the healthcare system in the province. The CM emphasised the provision of quality and modern healthcare facilities to the people of the province. Shahbaz said he was determined to fulfil his mission at all costs.
To achieve the desired objectives in this regard, the provincial government has introduced a modern system for the purchase, supply and distribution of medicines. This will end the sale of counterfeit and substandard medicine which put the lives of patients into jeopardy. Under the new system, samples of medicine are being collected and sent to foreign laboratories for testing. In addition, mobile health units are also providing quality healthcare facilities to people at their doorsteps, mainly in the rural areas of the province. The setup has been put in place and now it is up to the patients to avail these facilities when required.
