At a snail’s pace

On April 24-25, there was a massive traffic jam at the Faizabad interchange, Islamabad check post. It took one hour 40 minutes to travel three kilometres. It appears that cameras have been installed at the check post to ensure that all vehicles pass slowly and can be thoroughly checked. Fortunately one did not see any ambulances or fire brigade trucks on the road at that time for if they get stuck, there could be fatalities caused by the traffic jam as the vehicles were moving at a snail’s pace.
The Islamabad administration is requested to come up with an alternative solution for checking cars as the present setup is causing massive traffic jams resulting in delays and the wastage of fuel.
