ECP approves time limit for filing objections on delimitations

The Sub-committee of the Parliamentary Committee on Electoral Reforms Wednesday has approved the time limit of 30-days for filling the objections on delimitations and decision on it.
It was decided in the meeting that the objections on the delimitation of the constituencies be filed within 30-days and it was mandatory to make a decision on objections on delimitations of the constituencies within period of 30-days.
The meeting of the sub-committee was held here Wednesday with the chair of its Chairman and Law Minister Zahid Hamid.
Talking to newsmen after the meeting, Zahid Hamid said the election reforms package would be presented in the Parliament before June. He said the committee will complete examining of three chapters of Elections Rules 2017 by today (Thursday).
The law minister said the instructions have been given to National Database Registration Authority (Nadra) and Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for increasing the women voters’ registration.
He said the Nadra has so far issued new 188,000 Computerised National Identity Cards for the women.
