Condolence reference

A condolence referen ce for Prof Muhammad Sultan Farooqi, former president of College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan, was held at CPSP Regional Centre, Lahore.
Prof Ijaz Ahsan, ex-president of CPSP, Prof Khawaja Sadiq Hussain, Afzal Muhammad Khan, Prof Farrakh Zaman, Prof Khalid Masood Gondal, Prof Mahmood Ayaz, Prof Asif Baig Mirza, Prof Tahir Saeed Haroon and Dr Fayyaz Ranjha along with senior doctors participated in the ceremony.
Prof Ijaz Ahsan paid rich tribute to the late Prof Muhammad Sultan Farooqi for his contributions to medical education. He said that Prof Farooqi established 100 percent transparent examination system of CPSP. Prof Khalid Masood Gondal, director general international relations, CPSP, threw light on the contribution of Prof Muhammad Sultan Farooqi. Prof Farooqi was elected as president of CPSP for the first time in 1992 and in his tenure the CPSP adopted the international medical standard. Besides CPSP headquarters, Karachi, he established regional centres in all provinces of the country and two international centres in Nepal and Saudi Arabia. He established reciprocal relations with Royal College of England and Australia in the field of medical education so that Pakistani doctors could be trained on a par with international standards.
