Taji Khokhar granted bail
Islamabad: Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) here Friday granted post-arrest bail to Imtiaz Ali alias Taji Khokhar who is behind the bars in a murder case.
IHC bench granted bail to Khokhar on medical grounds against two surety bonds worth Rs2.5 million each.
IHC bench however restrained Khokhar from travelling abroad and directed authorities to put his name on Exit Control List (ECL). The bench has also directed the trial court to conclude the trial within 3 months.
Khokhar was booked in a murder case emanating from a land dispute in 2013. Islamabad administration then issued a notification for Khokhar's jail trial.
Legal counsel for Khokhar, Zahid Bukhari advocate argued before the court that his client has severe health problems and his condition is deteriorating. For the reason, he needs special medical treatment.
My client is a patient of high blood pressure, diabetes, and kidney problems and recently he had some cardiac complications as well. Khokhar is also facing several other cases.
