On Saturday (Apr 22), the National Book Foundation will celebrate the eighth National Book Day at the Pak China Friendship Centre, Islamabad. The theme of the event is ‘Book – Life, Hope, Light’. The culture of book reading in our country has almost diminished. The government and the intellectual people have to play their roles to articulate critical importance of book reading in social and national development.
Although investment in infrastructure like motorways, metros, roads etc is commendable, the government is urged to prioritise and invest in social and intellectual development of people.
