The residents of Union Council (UC-45) Jhangi Syedan have demanded of the concerned authorities to take note of unscheduled power loadshedding that has made their lives miserable in the face of extremely hot weather.

"The rural people also pay heavy bills along with number of taxes but they have been hit hard by longer intervals of power cut-off up to three hours at a stretch. The unscheduled power loadshedding in Jhangi Syedan has become a routine and no one is giving any attention towards this problem," said Nawaz Khan, a resident of UC-45.

He said there is an acute shortage of water due to power outages that is badly affecting the supply of water to Jhangi Syedan and surrounding localities.

It is pertinent to mention here that Jhangi Syedan is currently facing power outages of up to eight hours due to which supply of water to the residents has become problems for the concerned authorities.

Waqas Thakar, a resident, said the water supply situation has worsened and they can only lament about it as the government seems to have abandoned them in the hot summer season.

He said: "The government has repeatedly stated that there would be no unscheduled power loadshedding but despite that we are facing this problem for last couple of weeks."
