World peace

By our correspondents

The recent militaristic campaigns by the US are a cause of concern for the peace of the already volatile and combustible regions including the Middle East and Afghanistan. It seems that President Trump only knows the language of dropping bombs and firing cruise missiles. The way he attacked Syria with Tomahawk missiles and pounded Nangarhar, a province in Afghanistan, with B43, also called the ‘mother of all bombs’, hints at a bleak and murky future. It seems Trump is in a great hurry to ‘make America great again’. In doing so, he is adopting the favourite strategy of his predecessors, that is, accuse a country first followed by its encirclement and incarceration without any proof or evidence.

Previously, the US charged the leaders of some countries in the Middle East of having weapons of mass destruction and then toppled their governments without proper proof. In the same way on the pretext of the 9/11 attack, the country turned Afghanistan into rubble. Now Syria is no exception. Without any authentic investigation about the use of chemical weapons in Idlib, the US unilaterally decided to fire missiles in Syria. The flames of terrorism have already wreak havoc with the millions of lives. It is time to compensate for the past blunders and work out a plan for the permanent peace for the entire globe.
