Corrupt people to be held accountable in Panama case, says ex-CJP
LAHORE: Pakistan Justice and Democratic Party’s head and former Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary said on Saturday that corrupt would be held accountable in the Panama case.
The former chief also termed the Panama case God’s blessings, saying that they would help cleanse the country of corrupt people. He expressed these views while addressing a press conference in Lahore.
The former chief said that there was no law that could bind the SC for the time it could reserve a verdict. He also appreciated Chairman Senate Raza Rabbani for his offer to step down as chairman and showing dismay over the non-serious and irresponsible behavior of ministers.
The former chief justice said that the prime minister should have gone to Mr. Rabbani to convince him to resume his functions as the Senate chairman. He said the state institutions were getting weaker and it was the time to expose the hidden enemies. Indian spy Jadav must be punished for his deeds, he added.
