LAHORE: Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Shaharyar Khan said on Sunday that the performance of Kamran Akmal and Ahmed Shehzad in the West Indies was disappointing.
Talking to reporters at the closing ceremony of the PCB U13 Catch ‘em’ Young Program 2017 (T-20 Inter Region Tournament) at the Gaddafi Stadium, he said the performance of the two was a matter of concern for him. “The two batsmen failed to come up to the expectations,” he said.
He further stated that if Wahab Riaz and Mohammad Amir failed to do well they would be dropped. “But they will be given time to deliver,” he added.
He was impressed to see the enthusiasm of under-13 kids, who played the final .
Talking to media, Shaharyar said that these talented children would one day be part of the national team. “The credit of the successful conduct of the under-13 tournament goes to Mudassar Nazar, director National Cricket Academy,” he said.
He further stated that the tournament would be an annual feature and the deserving children would be provided with school scholarships.
