Two men found in unlawful detention at Mobina Police Station

A team of District Central raided the Mobina Town police station and found two illegally detained persons in the police custody during the early hours of Saturday morning.

Two mobiles of the Gulberg SP entered the Mobina Town police station and recovered two persons from lockup.

Officials of the Mobina police station said the raid was conducted at 2:20am. The team took two persons namely Zeeshan and Yameen with them. The police also seized record of the police station.

An official of the police station, who requested anonymity, said Police Qaumi Razakar (PKR) Ashique and the head mohrir detained Zeeshan and Yameen and demanded bribe from their in-laws against for the release. He said the detainees were residents of Gulberg area and they were brought to the police station on Friday.

The team, which conducted the raid, also seized the cell-phone of SHO Changaiz Khan for investigation.

Fire damages warehouse

A fire broke out inside a warehouse of a departmental store located near the Bin Qasim Park, Clifton.

Fire officials said two fire tenders of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation were dispatched to douse the fire that had engulfed the warehouse at 12:05pm.

The officials said two fire tenders of the Cantonment Board Clifton (CBC) also took part in the operation and it took the firefighters around two hours to extinguish the blaze.
