Commanders say no compromise on anti-state acts

COAS decides to entertain no pressure on Kulbhushan Yadav

RAWALPINDI: The corps commanders on Thursday expressed the resolve that no compromise would be made on anti-state acts.

The meeting, chaired by Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, reviewed the national security environment and recent developments in the region.The meeting was also briefed about the RAW agent Kulbhushan Yadav and decided to entertain no pressure in this regard.

The Operation Raddul Fasaad and the process of ongoing national housing and population census also came under discussion.The meeting reviewed the national security environment and recent developments in the region as well as progress on the nationwide Operation Raddul Fasaad aimed at eliminating the residual latent threat of terrorism which was launched in February after a deadly attack at a shrine in Sehwan.

The COAS appreciated the formations, intelligence agencies and law-enforcement agencies for their successful execution of operations, the ISPR said.Kulbhushan Yadav was arrested on March 3, 2016 through a counter intelligence operation in Balochistan’s Mashkel area for his involvement in espionage and sabotage activities in Pakistan.He was tried by the Field General Court Martial for three months and sentenced to death.
