Panel formed to oversee schools admissions
Islamabad
The Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) has set up a seven-member committee to oversee admissions to the government schools in the Islamabad Capital Territory.
Earlier, the principals used to admit students to their respective educational institutions on their own.
The development comes in light of the complaints about scores of children failing to get admissions to the Islamabad Capital Territory schools last academic year.
The Capital Administration and Development Division oversees Islamabad’s government schools and colleges totaling more than 400 through the Federal Directorate of Education.
As stated in a Capital Administration and Development Division notification, the committee will be headed by joint secretary of the division Alamgir Ahmad Khan and will comprise Federal Directorate of Education director (model colleges) Tariq Masood, director (schools) Abdul Waheed, deputy director (model colleges) Muhammad Luqman, assistant director (academics) Anjum Zaheer, Islamabad College for Girls F-6/2 principal Tasneem Sher Muhammad and Islamabad Model School for Girls G-6/1/3 principal Ghazala Bashir Khan.
It will watch over the entire exercise of admissions to schools by addressing complaints about denial or hampering of enrolments by principals.
