Nuclear recognition

This refers to the news story, ‘IAEA lauds Pak nuclear safety measures’ (January 20). Though Pakistan has been operating under the IAEA safeguards for the last forty years, its safeguards being recognised in the IAEA report is an achievement for the country. It is now up to the government to make the best use of this report at the diplomatic level considering our desire for nuclear power generation in the country for which we have been seeking international assistance.
Moreover, this report also nullifies the false propaganda of susceptibility of Pakistan’s nuclear assets. It also appreciates our resolve that Pakistan is at war and is fully determined to wipe out terrorism from its soil. It is hoped the government will keep serving our national interests.
