Celebrations of Child Health and Nutrition Programme to start tomorrow

A week-long celebrations of significance of nutrition launched here on Saturday by Integrated Reproductive Maternal Newborn Child Health (IRMNCH) & Nutrition Programme of Health Department in Rawalpindi district, says a press release.
Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi, Talat Mehmud Gondal along with RMC Principal Professor Muhammad Umar, CEO District Health Authority Rawalpindi Dr. Fayyaz Ahmed Butt, Additional MS, HFH Tariq Niazi, Head of PEADS Professor Dr. Rai Muhammad Asghar, District Coordinator IRMNCH and Nutrition Programme Dr. Uzma Hayyat and Monitoring & Evaluation Officer Junaid Ahmed inaugurated PEADS Stabilisation Centre at Holy Family Hospital (HFH).
This exclusive centre would provide emergency Peads medical treatment facility to severe mal nourished kids.
DC, Rawalpindi Talat Mehmud Gondal talking on the occasion appreciated the efforts of Health Department for strengthening health care system especially for kids and also expressed satisfaction over the elaborate arrangements made for Nutrition Week to be started in Rawalpindi District from April 10.
He said that government has focused on health facilities in all rural and urban areas and system has been developed to provide best medical care facilities to all new borns and kids represented with severe complications. District Coordinator IRMNCH & Nutrition Programme Dr. Uzma Hayyat briefed on the occasion that Stabilisation Centre of HFH has been made a model centre for malnourished kids and they would be provided essential nutritional supplements besides the treatment facilities.
Principal Rawalpindi Medical College Professor Muhammad Umar informed that special emphasis has been laid to upgrade health care system in all teaching hospitals and shortfall off medical, nursing and paramedical staff had been fulfilled by extending all possible support.
Prof. Dr. Rai Muhammad Asghar informed that round the clock specialist health care facilities had been provided in PEADS Centre and the under treatment kids would be properly monitored by conducting regular examinations. He said that we have enough capacity to accommodate such kids to save their lives and trained staff is available to take care of severe effected kids.
