WANA: The temporarily displaced persons (TDPs) from South Waziristan Agency on Tuesday complained of the inadequate staff at the Khargi registration point and asked the government to increase the same to provide relief to the tribespeople to get their families registered.
The tribesmen at this registration point lamented that they were forced to wait for hours and then returned without getting the opportunity to get their families registered for return to their native areas in South Waziristan. A known tribal elder Malik Saeed Anwar Mehsud said the only 500-600 families could be registered daily while the number of those visiting the point ran in thousands.
He said the tribespeople living in Karachi and other far-off areas spent thousands of rupees and reached Khargi Camp to get themselves registered but to no avail. "Majority of them return to Tank and Dera Ismail Khan and book a room in hotels and wait for days to get registered," he added. He asked the authorities to increase the staff at the Khargi registration point to ensure registration of maximum number of the tribespeople.
