Algal bloom
The ecological imbalance in the sea is causing the increase of algae. Climate experts have expressed concerns over the rise of potentially toxic algae in rivers. The algae production is because of oil spills and the dumping of waste in rivers and seas. Because of this pollution, water in the rivers or seas is unable to maintain oxygen levels.
The absence of oxygen and the proliferation of nutrients are causing algae to thrive. Dangerously high levels of algae in sea might harm the marine life. This will result in the death of fish and other aquatic animals. This is a global alarming situation for which our government, civil society, national and international climate organisations should organise awareness programs to preserve marine life.
