Minister orders uninterrupted power supply to exam centres
The Sindh education minister has directed the K-Electric, Hyderabad Electric Supply Company and Sukkur Electric Supply Company to avoid any scheduled and unscheduled power outages during the ongoing matric examinations across the province so that the students could take exams in comfort.
Talking to media at the Sindh Assembly on Tuesday, Jam Mehtab Hussain Dahar said an uninterrupted supply of electricity could help the students to solve their question papers with peace of mind.
He also directed the administrations of the examination centres to ensure proper drinking water and other facilities for the students.
He further said that the examinations for the IX and X classes had started on Tuesday and, to curb cheating and other unfair means in exams, vigilance teams had been constituted under the CM’s special directives. He added that not only he but the CM might pay surprise visits to the examinations centres, and if anyone was caught cheating, he would not be spared.
Dahar claimed that this year, extraordinary measures had been taken to discourage cheating in exams, and in this regard the CM had written an open letter to all stakeholders and requested them to help curb the use of unfair means in the exams.
“Now, it is the turn of the parents, teachers and members of the civil society to help the government to stop the menace of cheating that is destroying our future generations.”
