Sami, Abid tons boost SBP
KARACHI: Test opener Sami Aslam (127) and Abid Ali (145) blasted spectacular centuries to enable State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) to pile up 370-5 in their first innings, restricted to 83 overs, on the first day of their three-day last round game of the Patron’s Trophy Grade-II against Karachi Port Trust (KPT) here at SBP Ground on Tuesday.
Saif Ali Ghori was the pick of the bowlers with 3-94.
In response, KPT were 13 without loss at stumps.
In the other show, at Sports Stadium, Sargodha, Suleman Ghani (140) and Hamza Akbar (102) blasted fine centuries to enable Higher Education Commission (HEC) to score 392-7 in their first innings against Port Qasim Authority (PQA).
The duo added 164 runs for the sixth wicket. Test discard Mohammad Talha got 4-52 in 12 overs.
In response, PQA were 26 without loss in five overs at stumps.
At Jinnah Stadium, Sialkot, NADRA were bowled out for 149 in their first innings against K-Electric with Saadullah scoring solid 60.
Naseem Shah and left-arm rookie spinner Hassan Khan claimed three wickets each.
In response, K-Electric were 177-1, for a lead of 28 runs with nine wickets and 53 overs yet in hand.
Sahibzada Farman was batting on 82. With him was Faraz Ali at the other end on 74.
Here at NBP Sports Complex, Mohibullah blasted 119 with 11 fours to enable Haideri Traders to reach 275 all out in their first innings against Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). Off-spinner Usman Usmani got 6-73.
CDA were 40-2, in response.
At Marghzar Ground, Islamabad, Army scored 363-8 in their first innings against Customs with Sanaullah Khan scoring a fine 102, hitting eight fours and three sixes.
Mohammad Atif made 91 off 129 deliveries, striking eight fours and three sixes.
Shahan Akram got 3-68.
In response, Customs were 44-2 at stumps.
At Pindi Stadium, Rawalpindi, ZTBL were bowled out for 240 by Capital Development Authority (CDA) with Waqas Saleem scoring 75 and Umar Javed 51.
Spinner Faisal Iqbal grabbed 4-49. CDA, in response, were 33-0 at stumps.
At Jinnah Stadium, Gujranwala, Humak Engineering were bowled out for 129 by Rahat and Shuja Impex with Sabih Hasan scoring 30 and Asif Mehmood making 28.
Spinners Amir Sohail (5-39) and Imran Khan (4-30) bowled superbly.
In response, Rahat and Shuja Impex were 202-3, for a lead of 73 runs.
