Sima Kamil appointed UBL chief executive
KARACHI: The board of directors of the United Bank Limited (UBL) has appointed Sima Kamil as the UBL president with effect from June 1, a bourse filing said on Monday. Kamil is currently serving as the deputy chief executive officer of UBL and will be assuming the position of president and CEO of the bank following expiry of the tenure of contract of the existing president Wajahat Husain (which expires on May 31) subject to the central bank’s fit and proper test clearance. The bank, in a notification sent to the Pakistan Stock Exchange, said its board held a meeting onMarch 24, regretting thatWajahat Husain is not seeking extension in his contract for personal reasons. The board appreciated and recognised the efforts of Husain as an effective leader.
