Dr Baig elected Chairman Pak-UAE Business Council
KARACHI: Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Zubair F Tufail has appointed leading industrialist Dr Mirza Ikhtiar Baig as the Chairman of the Pak-UAE Business Council for 2017. The Pak-UAE Business Council comprises the heads of leading Pakistani and UAE companies. The Pak-UAE Business Council election was held on March 11, 2017 in which Dr Baig won with an overwhelming majority. Dr Baig has good connections with the high government officials and business community of the UAE. From 1998 to 2008, Dr Baig was instrumental in attracting substantial foreign investment and the UAE was declared the single largest investor in Pakistan. Dr Baig is representing the private sector at the Pak-UAE Joint Ministerial Commission meetings for the last many years and would be taking a businessmen delegation to UAE soon.
