Tributes paid to Bhagat Singh, companions
LAHORE: Human Rights activists paid tributes to Bhagat Singh, Raj Guru and Sukh Dev, on the eve of 86th death anniversary of these legendary leaders at Bhagat Singh Chowk Shadman on Thursday. Members of Bhagat Singh Foundation and civil activists observed the day because Bhagat Singh was hanged along with his three companions on March 23, 1931 at the same place. The Bhagat Singh Foundation Pakistan, founder president, Abdullah Malik, said: “We are observing the Bhagat Singh day as protest against Modi Sarkar’s fundamentalist policies as he is ruining peace in the region and trying to create controversy.” Abdullah said Bhagat Singh worked as a freedom fighter for people of the region, and demanded the government of India and Pakistan declare all freedom fighters national heroes.
