Sherpao hails border reopening
PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) chief Aftab Sherpao has said reopening of Pak-Afghan border will improve ties between the two countries.
Through a statement issued here on Tuesday, he said the closure of border was not helpful in fighting terrorism as it had added to the miseries of people and the business communities. He added that the closure had brought all business and social activities to a standstill.
Resumption of the routine activity at the border should be utilised as a step to strengthen relations between the two neighbours, he said, suggesting step-wise approach to normalise the relations. He said the trust deficit should be removed among peoples, traders, governments and establishments so that confidence of people could be restored.
