With the preparations for the Pakistan Day celebrations in the federal capital already in final stages, there is a chance of light rain on March 23 falling in the morning.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, a rain-causing westerly wave prevailing in western parts of the country is likely to grip upper parts of the country today (Tuesday) evening and night.
"The weather is likely to remain partly overcast in Islamabad and Rawalpindi on March 23 with light rain falling in the morning," PMD forecasting officer Muhammad Farooq said on Monday.
He said besides rains coupled with strong winds and thunderstorm, there was a likelihood of snow falling over the hills in Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
