‘KPT official uses foul language against players’
KARACHI: A senior sports official of Karachi Port Trust (KPT) allegedly used foul language against his players when their Patron’s Trophy Grade-II match against Candyland ended in a draw here at the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Ground on Tuesday, ‘The News’ learnt through highly reliable sources.
They said when the three-day first round game ended in a stalemate, the official used foul language against the players in front of some of the match officials.
The sources said that the KPT official told his players that he would send them to offices and would not give them meal in the coming matches of the second-tier tournament.
The sources said that the KPT players were shocked at this treatment by the official, who is of a high cadre.
They stayed at the venue for a long time after the incident.
The sources said that the players on Wednesday met the KPT general manager operations and lodged with him a written protest.
The sources said that the KPT chairman has taken notice of the incident.
KPT will face Pak Saudi in their second round match here at the SBP Ground on Thursday (today).
