WAPDA, Army in National Table Tennis finals
KARACHI: WAPDA and Army blasted their way into the finals of both men’s and women’s team events of the 53rd National Table Tennis Championship 2017 at the Pakistan Sports Complex, Islamabad, on Wednesday.
In the men’s team event semi-finals, defending champions WAPDA beat Sindh 3-0 and Army defeated National Highway Authority (NHA) 3-0.
In the women’s team event semi-finals, defending champions Army defeated Punjab 3-0, while WAPDA overpowered Sindh 3-0.
The team events finals were in progress till filing of this report.
In women’s singles, Mehmooda Zahid, Ghazala Basit, Nousheen Wasim, Quarat-ul-Ain Mujtaba, Ayesha Sharjeel, Farwa Arif, Sadia Raheel and Nimra Rehman qualified for the quarter-finals.
