Bodies of 10 militants recovered in Swabi
SWABI: The bodies of 10 militants were recovered from the Pehur High Level Canal at Baja village here on Wednesday, an official said.
District Police Officer (DPO) Muhammad Shoaib said the militants were planning to stage attacks in Swabi, but the security forces foiled their nefarious designs.He said the bodies were fished out from the waters of the canal and taken to the Bacha Khan Hospital Complex at Shah Mansour township in Swabi for postmortem.
A day earlier the security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Malikabad village near Gadoon Amazai. Captain Junaid and Sepoy Amjad of Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom in the clash. At the time of the incident, the authorities had claimed that five militants were killed in the clash.
Meanwhile, Inspector Aslam of the Excise and Taxation Department said that some militants attacked his house during the night. He said he was not present at home when the attack took place.
