JI to pull country out of morass: Siraj
BANNU: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Sirajul Haq on Sunday said that Pakistan was being run by 'dealers' instead of leaders, which was posing serious threat to the country's security.
Speaking at a public meeting at the Sports Complex here, the JI chief said his party would get the country rid of the dealers after coming into power. He said inefficient leaders caused the separation of East Pakistan and that the county was again facing the danger of disintegration due to the selfish rulers.
"Pervez Musharraf converted Pakistan into a US colony while Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif continues the same policy," he alleged. Sirajul Haq said that rulers had amassed huge in foreign banks while the country's youth were suffering from joblessness and illiteracy.
He said the prevalent corruption in the government machinery forced his party to launch a movement against corruption and expressed the hope that the Supreme Court's decision would change the fate of the country.
The JI chief said Pakistan had become one of the most insecure places in the world due to the flawed policies of the successive governments. "The entire tribal region presents the look of a garrison due to the state policy of joining someone else war," he added.
The JI chief criticised the management for selling the PSL final tickets for thousands of rupees. "It was a big occasion and the government should have subsidised the tickets to facilitate all peaceful Pakistanis to watch the restoration of international cricket in Pakistan," he said.
