LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain has said that the PML-Q will participate in the All Parties Conference (APC) convened by Pakistan People's Party on military courts extension issue.

He said the PML-Q was taking this step in the interest of the country and the nation and would continue doing so in future as well wherever required.   He said this in the press briefing after meeting with a PPP delegation. Expressing gratitude for accepting the invitation, former Senate Chairman Senator Nayyer Bokhari and Senator Abdul Qayyum Soomro said that PPP was holding this APC due to the worst circumstances prevailing in the country and the attitude of the ruling party.

Earlier, in the meeting held at the residence of PML-Q leaders here Sunday, former deputy prime minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Senator Kamil Ali Agha, Moonis Elahi and PPP Sameena Khalid Ghurki and Sardar Ali Khan were also present. Saying thanks to the PPP delegation, Ch Shujaat Hussain said that whenever invited on any matter concerning the country, nation and people, the PML-Q would attend the meeting for evolving consensus on military courts bill.

The N-League has made the military courts bill controversial by amending it on its own, he said. He had raised the objection during the All Parties Conference regarding National Action Plan that in the bill for setting up military courts word "educational institutions" be used instead of madaris but then his suggestion was not approved and afterwards heavy price was paid, he said, adding that nobody's interest should be over and above the national interest.
