Praises matchless sacrifices of police, security agencies
TIMERGARA: Khyber Pakh-tunkhwa Finance Minister Muzaffar Said on Saturday demanded the federal government to increase the province’s share in funds as frontline province in the war against terrorism.
He expressed these views while addressing as chief guest at the annual parents day function at a school in Balambat. Coordinator of the school Naila Hassan, director Faridullah, Timergara tehsil nazim Riaz Muhammad, PTI local leader Malik Rahatullah and a large number of students and their parents were present on the occasion.
The students presented tableaus, national songs, speeches and recited naats.
Lauding the role of police and other security agencies in elimination of terrorism, he said the police and security agencies rendered matchless sacrifices for restoration of peace.
He said the provincial government had extended the services of special police force for three years in appreciation to sacrifices they rendered for maintaining law and order.
He said the dream of Timergara Medical College (TMC) would soon come true as Chief Minister Pervez Khattak had released Rs450 million as first installment for the project.
He said developmental projects worth Rs440 million had been completed in Lower Dir with joint assistance of the European Union (EU) and government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while work on other projects is underway.
The minister said the provincial government was focusing on education sector and appointed thousands of teachers.
He said that Rs580 million was being spent on provision of facilities to state-run educational institutions in Lower Dir.
He asked the private educational institutions to help promote quality education instead of commercialism.
Muzaffar Said added that services of Rescue 1122 would resume in Lower Dir soon. He called upon the students to do research and learn the use of modern technology for positive activities.
